First set? Start with a halo or clip-ins. Both go on at home, come off at night, and let you learn what you like before committing to anything longer-term. Browse the starter sets under $100.

2. Choose your length

Approximate placement on an average-height woman, measured from where the extension attaches:

Length Falls around Good for
14" Shoulders to collarbone Volume for shoulder-length hair
16" Just below the shoulders Subtle length and fullness
18" Chest The most natural-looking everyday length
20" Bra strap Noticeable length
22"–24" Mid to lower back Dramatic length (best if your hair is already past the shoulders)
26" Waist Maximum length

Tip: the shorter your own hair, the shorter the extension should be for a natural blend. If your hair is above the shoulders, 14"–16" usually blends best.

3. Match your shade

  1. Stand near a window in daylight — indoor light makes hair look warmer.
  2. Look at the middle and ends of your hair, not the roots. That's where the extension has to blend.
  3. Between two shades? Choose the lighter one, or email us a photo.

Every product page says clearly whether the hair is 100% Remy human hair or heat-safe synthetic. Human hair can be heat-styled and toned; synthetic holds a set style and costs less.
